Consignment Terms & Conditions
StyleColab Preloved offers consignors two Rent a Rack Consignment options to sell at their Hawthorn store: You Style (Self Service) and We Style(All Inclusive). More information is available below on each of the options. We often find our consignors have more sales success when a rack is booked for 3 or 4 weeks.
We do not guarantee the sale of your products or the money that may be earnt. This is subjective and a number of factors impact the sale of an item in store or online, such as demand, price, condition, age and seasonality. We take all efforts to promote your items for sale, by providing exceptional instore service, and promoting your rack and some of your products where possible on social media and our website. We encourage you to also share your rack and items on your social pages, let family and friends know and word of mouth helps!
You are welcome to rent a rack with another person, however, only one account will be set up per rack. All payments will be made into one account. The goods available for sale at the Hawthorn store (768-770 Glenferrie Rd Hawthorn) will be on consignment for the duration of the rack booking. However, StyleColab Preloved reserves the right to return goods at any time. The items must be clean, of good quality, condition, and fit for sale. StyleColab Preloved reserves the right to clean products and the cost will be deducted from any sale payment.
StyleColab Preloved accepts no responsibility or liability for any damage, theft or loss of the said goods whilst in its possession.
Once the rack has been set up for sale and If the consignor requests to collect their rack items during the consignment period, 72 hours’ notice must be provided. StyleColab Preloved reserves the right to charge an early collection fee of $5 per item if all or the majority of the rack items are to be collected in the initial 2 weeks of the consignment period. No refund on the rack rental amount paid will be provided. If you would like to change your start date, this may be possible subject to availability, however, it will apply at the rate chargeable at the new nominated rack date, should it be more than what you may have originally paid, you can pay the difference. No refunds on rack rentals will be offered.
There are two rack options: You Style - Self-Service and We Style - All Inclusive.
YOU STYLE - SELF SERVICE OPTION
Once you have booked your rack, you will receive an email with a form for you to itemise and price your garments. It includes a short description, such as Scanlan & Theodore Blue Dress Size 12 $200 NWT.
Please keep in mind when pricing your items, you take into account the brand, age, quality, style, seasonality, and demand for the item. We usually recommend 1/3 - 1/4 of the original retail price. We are happy to provide guidance and feedback where possible if you are unsure of how to price. We also recommend you view other reseller sites for guidance if you are not sure.
When your rack rental starts, we will print barcode price tags at the store for you to attach to the items. It is your responsibility to attach the tags correctly to your product. It is best that your items are clean and pressed/steamed before you bring them into the store. We can provide a steamer if required.
Bring items to the store on the morning/afternoon (before 4pm) of the start date of your rental period. We will assign you a rack and provide the hangers and price tags. You set up your rack with up to 40 items of clothing + up to 5 accessories (max 3 pairs of shoes). StyleColab Preloved does not provide any storage space for sellers and all items to be taken with you. We will provide you with an area to assemble your rack.
You can follow your sales on our online consignor portal. You will receive 70% of sale proceeds less GST and $1 admin fee per item sold. You are welcome to top up your rack during rack rental period after 5 items have sold. From time to time luxury designer brands such Chanel, Hermes etc and high-end designer pieces, ie handbags/shoes may command a higher commission, ie 75-80%. Please talk to us for more details.
The weekly rack rental is $89 per week (min 2 weeks) and it moves through 3 pricing phases:
- 2 weeks at full price
- 3rd week at 25% off
- 4th week at 50% off
Please note, for 2-week rack bookings, the last 3 days of the rack period the items are reduced to 50%. For 3 week rack bookings, the items are reduced to 50% on the 3rd week. A sale sign will be attached to your rack and prices updated in our POS. Luxury and high end designer pieces may be excluded from significant price reductions. Please discuss this with us.
Please note we do offer at our discretion a 10% discount to some customers. ie 1st-time customers returning to shop, website promotions and high-spend VIP customers. Whilst we do inspect the items before they are placed on the rack, from time to time, we may miss or not see minor stains or damage, ie small hole/s, marks, running threads, faulty zipper, fallen hems etc and we will offer the customer a 10% discount. If they do not meet the standards we will either have it cleaned or request you collect it.
If you would like to extend the rack rental period. please get in touch and we can advise of availability and rate.
Your rack must be emptied on the last day of the rental agreement. Please ensure you come at least 1 hour before store closing time to collect any leftover items. Price and security tags will need to be removed and please bring your own hangers or bags to pack and carry your items. When packing away your clothes please double-check each price tag to make sure the clothes are yours.
An additional storage charge of $25/day will be deducted from sale proceeds if items are not picked up on the last day of rental. Items not collected within 7 days of rental finishing will become the property of StyleColab Preloved and will be disposed of at our discretion.
Payment for items sold is made by bank transfer approximately 2 weeks after the rack end date.
WE STYLE - ALL INCLUSIVE
Once you have booked your We Style - All Inclusive rack, you will receive a confirmation email of your start date. You will bring in your items a week prior to your start date and we will itemise and price the items. Please note, we will use our best efforts in pricing your items, taking into account the demand, condition, age, brand, age, quality, style, and season for the item and either the same or like items for sale on the reseller market and what we believe the market will pay. We usually recommend 1/3 - 1/4 of the original retail price. You are welcome to drop off more items during your rack rental period once 5 or more items have sold.
You can bring in 40-60 items to sell for you. We will steam, display and them on your rack and restock as required. You will be able to track your items and sales on our online portal. You will receive 50% of the sale proceeds less GST and $1 admin fee. From time to time luxury designer brands such Chanel, Hermes etc and high-end designer pieces, ie handbags/shoes may command a higher commission, ie 60-80%. Please talk to us for more details.

You can nominate to collect or donate your items at the end of your rack rental period. We can donate on your behalf to charity (we donate to a number of charities) or we can place your unsold items onto our charity rack and proceeds will be donated to a number of charities.
If you have nominated to collect your items, you can collect them on the last day of your rack rental. We will pack them up for you. Any uncollected items will become the property of StyleColab Preloved after 7 days of the rack end date and will be disposed at our discretion. An additional storage charge of $25/day will be deducted from sale proceeds if items are not picked up on the last day of rental.
